3. Medical Emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

This website is not monitored 24 hours a day and is not equipped to respond to emergencies. Do not use the contact form or any feature of this website to communicate urgent or emergency situations.

4. Appointment Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

Scheduling

Appointments may be requested through our patient portal or by calling our office at (228) 274-4621 during business hours. Appointment requests submitted through the website contact form are not confirmed until you receive direct communication from our office.

Cancellation Policy

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer your time slot to another patient in need.

• Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may result in a cancellation fee
• No-show appointments may also be subject to a fee
• Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect your ability to schedule future appointments

Late Arrivals

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment we may need to reschedule to ensure adequate time for your care. Please call our office if you are running late.

5. Telehealth Services

Griffin Mental Health & Wellness PLLC offers telehealth services to patients located in the State of Mississippi. By using our telehealth services you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are physically located in Mississippi at the time of your telehealth appointment
• You have a stable internet connection and appropriate device for the session
• Telehealth services may not be appropriate for all clinical situations
• Your provider may determine that in-person care is more appropriate for your needs
• Telehealth sessions are subject to the same confidentiality protections as in-person visits

6. Insurance & Payment

Insurance

Griffin Mental Health & Wellness PLLC accepts most major insurance plans. It is your responsibility to verify your benefits and coverage prior to your appointment. Accepted insurance plans are listed on our home page.

Out-of-Network

If your insurance is out of network a receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Private Pay

We accept private pay for patients without insurance or those who prefer to pay out of pocket. Payment is due at the time of service.

Financial Responsibility

You are responsible for all charges not covered by your insurance plan including but not limited to:

• Deductibles
• Copayments
• Coinsurance
• Non-covered services

7. Prescription Policy

Medication Management

Catina Griffin, PMHNP-BC provides individualized medication management as part of psychiatric care. Prescriptions are issued at the clinical discretion of your provider based on your individual needs and treatment plan.

Important Prescribing Notice

Griffin Mental Health & Wellness PLLC does not prescribe benzodiazepines.

Controlled Substances

The prescribing of controlled substances is subject to Mississippi state law and the clinical judgment of your provider. Prescriptions for controlled substances require:

• An established provider-patient relationship
• Regular monitoring appointments as determined by your provider
• Compliance with your treatment plan

Prescription Refills

Prescription refill requests must be submitted through your patient portal or by calling our office during business hours. Please allow sufficient time before your medication runs out. Emergency refills outside of business hours cannot be guaranteed.

8. Patient Responsibilities

As a patient of Griffin Mental Health & Wellness PLLC you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information about your health history
• Attend scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice of cancellation
• Follow your agreed-upon treatment plan
• Treat our staff with courtesy and respect
• Notify us of any changes to your insurance, contact information, or emergency contacts
• Inform your provider of any medications prescribed by other healthcare providers
